War Machine Facing Attempted Murder Charges, Possible Life In Prison

Jonathan Koppenhaver, the former cast member of season six of UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter reality show, entered a not guilty plea on 32 felony counts in a Las Vegas courtroom on Wednesday.

Koppenhaver, who is better known to MMA fans as War Machine, was originally facing nine felony counts stemming from the alleged domestic violence incident with former girlfriend, adult film star Christy Mack. However, according to a new Las Vegas Review-Journal report, War Machine is now facing 32 felony charges dating back to May 2013, including, but not limited to: attempted murder, sexual assault, battery, coercion, preventing or dissuading a witness or victim from reporting a crime, and first-degree kidnapping resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Koppenhaver, who most recently fought under the Bellator MMA banner, was captured without incident by U.S. Marshals and representatives of the Simi Valley Police Department after hiding out from the authorities following the aforementioned domestic violence incident. He is currently scheduled to appear in court again on October 17th and if convicted, faces a possible life sentence in prison without the possibility of parole.
